
This design is suited for a medium plate with a rim, however the design can be adopted to various items.
The materials needed for this design are:
Duncan EZ Strokes translucent underglazes: The following colours have been used in this design, however any colours can be used.
EZ005 Sierra Yellow
EZ006 Forget Me Not Blue
EZ023 Midnight Blue
EZ032 Peacock Green
EZ059 Buttercup cream
Wax Resist
Sable brush
Liner brush
Soft Sander

1. Sand and clean the greenware. Use a cleanup tool to remove any large amounts of clay left on the greenware, then sand smooth with the sponge. Finally wipe down the greenware with a damp sponge.
2. Use freehand (or trace) to draw the outline provided on the greenware
3. Lightly sponge an area and sgraffito the lines of the pattern. The lines should be approximately 1mm deep.
4. Paint all the sgraffito lines with Midnight Blue, let the paint dry and then sand off paint outside the lines. Dust to remove loose dust (do not dust).
5. Paint the daisy petals Peacock Green and the daisy centres with Sierra Yellow.
6. Wax the petals and centres.
7. Paint the remaining parts of the rim in Buttercup cream background, let the paint dry and then using the soft sponge distress the rim in places.
8. Paint the outer and inner rim in Forget Me Not Blue.
9. Bisque Fire.
10. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze and fire again.
