Daisy's and Tulips

This design is suited for most plates, but can be modified to suit almost any type of greenware.

The materials needed for this design are:

Duncan EZ Strokes translucent underglazes: The following colours have been used in this design, however other colours can be used.

 

EZ004 Willow Yellow

EZ006 Forget-Me-Not Blue

EZ012 Cobalt Jet Black

EZ023 Midnight Blue

EZ028 Leaf Green

EZ050 Pueblo Purple

Wax Resist
Sable brush
Liner Brush
Wide Brush (3/4 inch)
Soft Sander
Sponge
Soft Pencil

Turntable

Duncan GL612 Diamond Clear Glaze

1. Sand and clean the greenware. Use a cleanup tool to remove any large amounts of clay left on the greenware, then sand smooth with the sponge. Finally wipe down the greenware with a damp sponge.

2. Pencil or trace the outline onto the greenware

3. Paint the centre of the daisy flowers in Willow Yellow.

4. Using Pueblo Purple paint the Tulips.

5. Using the liner brush outline the flowers in Cobalt Jet Black, then wax the flowers.

6. Paint the blue strips on the vase in Forget-Me-Not Blue, then outline the entire vase in Cobalt Jet Black and wax the vase.

7. Next, paint the leaves in Leaf Green, outline in Cobalt Jet Black and wax.

8. Using  the turntable and a wide brush paint the centre in Willow Yellow.

9. Next paint the outer circle with Forget Me-Not-Blue, using the turntable to get an even finish.

10. Between the two circles paint Forget-Me-Not Blue dots.

11. To finish the plate paint a rim with Midnight Blue.

12.  Remember to sign the back, then bisque fire.

13. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze, fire again and enjoy!
