1. Sand and clean the greenware. Use a cleanup tool to remove any large amounts of clay left on the greenware, then sand smooth with the sponge. Finally wipe down the greenware with a damp sponge.
2. Pencil or trace the outline onto the greenware
3. Paint the lemons with Lemon Yellow. Apply a wash of Willow Yellow on the edge of the lemons.
4. Sand back the lemons to let light in on the lemons.
Note: To apply a wash use paint that has been watered down further than normal.
5. Paint the leaves Irish Green and then apply a wash of Peacock Green.
6. Wax the leaves and before the wax dries sgraffito the veins on the leaves.
7. Using Dutch Blue paint the background. A turntable makes it easier to get an even finish. Clean any excess paint off the wax.
8. Paint the rim and inner band in Coral Red. Sgraffito lines in the rim and inner band while the paint is still damp.
9. Remember to sign the back, then bisque fire.
10. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze, fire again and enjoy!
