Doves of Love
This design is suited for plates, however it can be adapted to many types of greenware.
The following colours have been used in this design, however other colours can be used.
Duncan
EZ Strokes translucent underglazes:
EZ003 Irish Green
EZ023 Midnight Blue
EZ031 Light Blue
EZ059 Buttercream
EZ066 Morning Glory
The materials needed for this design are:
Sable brush
Wax Resist
Sponge
Sander
Foam edge-brush
Duncan GL612 Diamond Clear Glaze.
1. Clean and sponge greenware.
2. Using Light Blue paint the birds, leaving the beaks white.
3. Using Morning Glory paint the chest of the birds over the Light Blue. Distress the birds using the sander.
4. Using Light Blue paint the leaves, hearts, berries and rim design.
5. With Midnight Blue Outline the birds, leaves, hearts and rim design. Paint in the branches with Midnight Blue.
6. Next Wax everything painted.
7. With a wash, paint the background in Buttercream. Let dry and distress.
8. Using a wash paint over the Buttercream with the Irish Green. Let dry and distress lightly.
9. Clean the excess paint off the waxed areas.
10. Finally using a foam edge brush trim the bowl edge with Midnight Blue.
11. Bisque fire.
12. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze, fire again and enjoy!
