
This design is suited for plates, however it can be adapted to many types of greenware.

design, however other colours can be used.

The materials needed for this design are:
Sable brush
Wax Resist
Sponge
Sander
Foam edge-brushSgraffito tool
Duncan GL612 Diamond Clear Glaze.
1. Clean and sponge greenware.
2. Draw or trace image on plate.
3. Paint the eye of the fish in Sierra Yellow and the pupil in Cobalt Black. Outline the eye in Cobalt Black, then Wax.
4. Paint the upper half of the fish and the lower fin with Dutch Blue. Wash over the Dutch Blue with Peacock Green.
5. Paint the scales with Cobalt Black and sgraffito lines in while the black paint is still damp.
6. Paint the lower half of the fish and the top fin in Willow Yellow.
7. With a wash of Coral Red paint lines on fin and darken the area under the mouth and gill. Outline the fish in Cobalt Black and paint gill and tail lines.
8. Wax fish.
9. Paint the coral Coral Red and outline in Cobalt Black. Then wax.
10. Paint the background with a wash of Light Blue being careful not to make it to thick as the weed is painted over the blue.
11. Using Irish Green paint weeds. With a wash of Brick Red paint part of the weed. Outline the weeds in Cobalt Black and paint the veins with Cobalt Black.
12. Outline the rim in Navajo Turquoise with the foam brush and paint thin lines around the rim with Midnight Blue.
13. Bisque fire.
14. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze, fire again and enjoy!
