Sunflower Lassanga Dish

This design is suited for a lasagne dish, however the design can be adopted to plates, bowls, casserole dishes and vases.

EZ003 Irish Green

EZ004 Willow Yellow

EZ016 French Brown

EZ024 Royal Blue Green

EZ028 Leaf Green

EZ033 Ivy Green

EZ050 Pueblo Purple

EZ057 Coral Red

Duncan GL612 Diamond Clear Glaze

1. Clean and sponge greenware. 

2. Draw the design on the clean greenware letting the design overflow to the outer sides.

3. Using Willow Yellow paint dots in the centre of the sunflowers. Coat the dots in wax.

5. Paint the centre French Brown and wax the entire centre.

6. With long flowing brush strokes paint petals of sun flowers with Willow Yellow. Bring light into some of the petals by gently sanding back.

7. Using a liner brush and French Brown paint veins in sunflower petals. With Coral Red paint the edge of some of the petals. Wax the petals of the sunflower.

8. Paint all crab apples with Willow Yellow and shade with Coral Red. Wax the crab apples

9. Paint the grapes with Pueblo Purple. Make sure you paint three to four coats as Pueblo Purple tends to burn away when fired. Wax the grapes.

10. Using Ivy Green paint the large leaves behind the sunflowers. Paint the veins in Royal Blue Green. Wax the leaves.

11. Paint the smaller leaves behind grapes and crab apples using Leaf Green for some and Irish Green for the others. Paint the veins with Royal Blue Green. Wax the leaves.

12. Paint background with Royal Blue Green. Make sure all the Royal Blue Green is cleaned off the waxed areas.

13. Fire and glaze.
