James' Room

This design is suited for a 30cm tile, however the design can be adopted to any greenware. If you require you can change the design to a different character. Many different characters can be found on the internet.

Duncan GL612 Diamond Clear Glaze

1. Sand and clean the greenware. Using a cleanup tool to remove any large amounts of clay left on the greenware, then sand smooth with the sponge. Finally wipe down the greenware with a damp sponge.

2. Draw or trace the characters you have chosen on the greenware.

3. Paint Sukamon with Sierra Yellow, paint the mouth with Coral Red. If desired you can add the shadowed area to give a more three dimensional effect with Roasted Chestnut.

4. Paint the body of Seadramon with Peacock Green. Paint the head with Willow Yellow, the mouth, stripes and tail with Coral Red and the tongue with Royal Purple.

5. Paint Ikkakumon's toenails with Coral Red, his tusks with Flesh Tone and add some shading with Thundercloud Grey. Fill in the horn and feet with Cobalt Jet Black.

6. Paint Numemon with Olive Green, Paint the tongue with Coral Red and his mouth with Brick Red. Use Midnight Blue for his spots and Iris for the gums.

7. Paint Tsunomon's body and eyes with Sierra Yellow and the horn with Thundercloud Grey.

8. Paint Patamon with Poppy Orange. Paint the eyes with Light Blue and the mouth and tongue with Coral Red.

9. Paint the outlines and other details with Cobalt Jet Black.

10. Draw guidelines for the letters with pencil and set-out the letters evenly. Paint in the letters with Cobalt Jet Black.

Tip: A book on Calligraphy can be useful to set out writing for many ceramic designs, Alternatively find a font you like on your computer and print the text required at the correct size.

11. Paint the edge of the tile in Cobalt Jet black with the foam brush.

11. Sign your name on the front (as the back will be hidden).

12. Bisque fire.

13. Glaze, fire again and enjoy!

14. To hang you can either drill holes in the greenware, or use a stick-on plate hanger.
