Zebra's on the Plains

This design is suited for almost any greenware.

The following colours have been used in this design, however other colours can be used.
Duncan EZ Strokes translucent underglazes: 
       EZ004 Willow Yellow
       EZ010 French Brown
       EZ012 Cobalt Jet Black
       EZ025 Lemon Yellow
       EZ028 Leaf Green
       EZ031 Light Blue
       EZ043 Mint Julep
       EZ047 Thundercloud Grey
       EZ056 Brick Red
       EZ059 Buttercream
       EZ068 Roasted Chestnut

The materials needed for this design are:

Sable brush
Wax Resist
Sponge
Sander
Pencil
Cleanup Tool
Duncan GL612 Diamond Clear Glaze.

1.  Clean and sponge greenware. 

2.  Draw or trace image on plate, either one or two zebra's may be drawn. draw in the trees and leaves.

3.  Paint the zebra's in Cobalt Jet Black, and outline the zebra's. Paint their muzzle's in Thundercloud Grey.

4.  Wax the zebra's with the wax resist.

5.  The sun is painted with one coat of Buttercup as only a light shade is required, then waxed.

6.  Use Roasted Chestnut to paint the trunks of the trees. Outline the trunks with French Brown, and if desired add bands to the trunks to add detail.

7. Paint the leaves with one coat of Mint Julep, then paint the edges of the leaves with Leaf Green, leaving the centre a lighter colour. Wax the leaves and the trunks of the trees.

8.  Paint the flowers with Light Blue and Brick Red, then sgraffito in the dots and wax.

9.  Paint the grass with Mint Julep with an even coat. Using a fine brush wax the leaves and the pattern on the grass.

9.  Add detail to the grass with Leaf Green, you should be able to do this by painting over the waxed Mint Julep. The wax the top 2cm edge of the grass.

10. The plains or sponged with Lemon Yellow, and around the bottom and left side with Willow Yellow.

11. Use Light Blue to sponge the Sky.

12. Using a small part of the sponge add the far side on the plain with a line of Leaf Green.

13. Bisque fire.

14. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze, fire again and enjoy!
