
This design is suited for narrow platters.

The materials needed for this design are:
Cleanup tool
Sanding Pad
Sponge
Pencil
Wax
Liner Brush
Round Brush

1. Clean and sponge greenware.
2. Draw in the fish and lemons using the shape of the platter base as a guide. Then draw in the lettuce, chillies, tomatoes and fork.
3. Outline the body of the fork with Cobalt Jet Black and coat with wax.
4. Paint the lemons with Willow Yellow, add details and outline with Cobalt Jet Black and coat with wax.
5. Paint the fish with Willow Yellow, add depth to the edges, tail and gills with Coral Red. Add some highlights to the fish by sanding parts back to the white clay as shown on the image.
TIP: To add a 'distressed' effect use on corner of the sander very lightly to add highlights. You get a more even effect with more light passes rather than using heavy strokes.
6. Outline the fish in Cobalt Jet Black and add the eye and gills. Wax the edge neat the lettuce and part of the tail that is next to the blue on the rim.
7. Paint the lettuce with a light wash of Willow Yellow then paint over with Leaf Green, paint the flex's and outline with Cobalt Jet Black and coat with wax.
8. Paint the chillies and tomatoes with Brick Red and add highlights with the sander by distressing then outline with Cobalt Jet Black and coat with wax.
9. Draw in the pattern on the rim, including the swirls, starting on the two ends and working towards the middle, to balance the design.
10. Paint the rim pattern with Navajo Turquoise and outline with Cobalt Jet Black and paint the spirals with Cobalt Jet Black.
11. Paint the dots on the fork with Irish Green, outline with Cobalt Jet Black and coat with wax. Paint the handle of the fork with Pueblo Purple and Iris in a 1:1 mix and outline in Cobalt Jet Black
12. Bisque fire.
13. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze, fire again and enjoy!
