1. Sand and clean the greenware. Use a cleanup tool to remove any large amounts of clay left on the greenware, then sand smooth with the sponge. Finally wipe down the greenware with a damp sponge.

2. Trace the design on to the plate with the carbon paper. Make sure the design is centred. Use the inner rim as a guide for the placement of the design.

3.  Paint the Midnight Blue sections in the middle of the plate.

4.  Outline the design with Cobalt Jet Black.

5.  Divide the plate into six sections. Draw the three circles at each of the marked positions. Use a ten cent piece (or other coin) to get an accurate circle.

6.  Outline the circles with Cobalt Jet Black.

7.  Paint the centre of the circles with Midnight Blue.

8.  Draw and then paint the lines around the rim between the circles.

9.  Using the end of the paint brush and Brick Red paint the red dots around the rim.

10. Sign your name on the bottom then Bisque fire.

11. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze and fire again.
