
This design is suited for a flat bowl, however the design can be adopted to various items.

Duncan EZ Strokes translucent underglazes: The following colours have been used in this design, however any colours can be used.

1. Sand and clean the bowl, then draw the design on the plate. Use freehand or trace Peter Rabbit slightly to the left of centre on the bowl. Draw a several flowers on the right hand side with a butterfly just above them.
2. Paint Peter Rabbits' jacket in Light Blue. This colour can burn away in the kiln, so ensure that there are three coats.
3. Using light touches with the liner brush paint highlights on Peter's ears, head and waist with Willow Yellow, then add depth with touches of Cobblestone and Thundercloud Grey.
4. Paint in Peter's hands and slippers with Cobblestone.
5. Paint flowers with Coral Red petals and a Willow Yellow centre. Use Peacock Green for the stems and leaves.
6. Use Coral Red, Pueblo Purple, Navajo Turquoise to paint the centre part of the butterfly wings then using Willow Yellow paint the remaining part of the wings. Paint the body of the butterfly in Cobalt Jet Black.
7. Outline Peter in Cobalt Jet black, use light touches with the brush to get a hairy outline rather than a smooth line.
8. Outline the butterfly in Cobalt Jet black, including the whiskers on peter and the feelers on the butterfly.
9. Wax Peter, the butterfly and the flowers. Sponge the grass in with Irish Green, and the sky with Light Blue.
10. Paint the rim of the bowl with Light Blue.
11. If required, paint a name on the top side of the bowl and a personalised message on the back.
12. Place white French Dimension dots randomly (or in a regular pattern) around the side of the bowl.
13. Bisque Fire.
14. Glaze using Duncan Diamond Clear Glaze and fire again.
